A safe space to move past pregnancy loss or birth trauma and think about your future.
Hi, I’m Natasha Williams
I help women and their partners move past trauma experienced during fertility treatment, so that they can emotionally prepare for future pregnancies OR make decisions on other ways to grow their future family.
Why I want to help women like you
You’re probably wondering why I’m so clear on the women I want to help? Yes, I have many years of experience in Psychotherapy, and I’ve helped a huge range of people with many different trauma symptoms.
But my passion lies with helping those who are undergoing fertility treatment, because I understand the additional layer of pressures and anxiety that goes with this area of pregnancy.
In my twenties and early thirties, I was a high-achieving, career-focused woman who liked to have everything under control. I knew what I wanted in life and had the confidence to go out into the world and get it. I worked hard, studied hard, had plenty of money in the bank, went on amazing holidays and drove a nice car—life was good.
However, this was a mask to what I really wanted. I had always wanted a child and being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries at 18 years old, I knew I would have difficulties conceiving.
Whilst having a great life, behind the scenes I was trying to conceive. By my early thirties things began to unravel when I still had not been able to start my family.
When I struggled to conceive naturally, all those nice things I’d worked hard for weren’t enough anymore.
I wanted a baby so much, so I began my fertility treatment journey, but this, in turn, opened up a world of fear, anxiety and trauma experiences. I became extremely depressed and, at my lowest point, thought what was the point of life.
At that time, and as a practicing therapist myself, I thankfully had access to the support I needed in order to help me continue on my fertility treatment journey.
I now have a beautiful daughter who has completed my world and I’m very happy, but it took around twelve months of counselling and therapy to get to where I am today.
I absolutely know how powerful therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT) and Eye Movement desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR) are for trauma. Not only because I’ve seen huge transformations in clients, but also from personal experience.
